TEDx talk with BT co-editor Dave Mitchell

This June 4th, Beautiful Trouble co-editor Dave Oswald Mitchell presented some core tenets of creative troublemaking through a discussion of  “The Grammar of Social Change.” His TEDx talk, given to an audience of 300 in Saskatoon, Canada, is now available through TEDx Regina.

In the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading”, TEDx is a program of self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience on a local level. At a TEDx event, connection within a community is sparked by a combination of screenings of TED Talks videos and live speakers. The x in TEDx stands for independently organized, and all TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated separately, on a community-by-community basis.

In “The Grammar of Social Change”, Dave shows that by treating activism as a language, the Beautiful Trouble project was able to outline some basic grammatical units of social change, and distill what works into teachable concepts for creative activists everywhere.
