Troublemaking with alter-globalization movement Attac
Beautiful Trouble co-editor Andrew Boyd traveled to Paris this December and met with members of Attac, the “alter-globalization” movement that rose to prominence in the late 90s and has since spread to 34 countries on 4 continents. United behind the motto “Another world is possible”, Attac chapters fight for social, environmental, and democratic alternatives to the globalization process.
Attac invited Boyd to discuss creative tactics and plot a French translation of Beautiful Trouble. In true French style, conversation over wine, cheese, and pate ranged from the finer points of how to “dismantle” a McDonalds with your tractor, to how the beloved Asterix and Obelix comic book characters are being used to help block construction of an insane mega-airport near Nantes.
Keep your eyes out for a French edition of Beautiful Trouble (hopefully!) in 2014.
Nous nous attendons un traduction française de Beautiful Trouble plus tard en 2014.
